I like it … old fashioned and restful.
I like the second one too, for the same reasons, but like it more than the first because there is applique!

One simple shape … one multi coloured fabric plus a border fabric.
All those simple shapes could be cut from small scraps.
Of all the shapes I have used to design quilts, this simple shape would have to be the most versatile.

Spring has sprung down under … well, at least the calendar has been turned over. Many of the spring bulbs jumped into action early despite a rather cold winter, and almond blossoms have been and gone.
I think I should plant a creeper on that trellis … or perhaps embroider one!

This is a result of trying to draw a block to use instead of sashing an on point applique quilt. It is OK, but not what I was trying to do, so have abandoned the attempt. I am showing you the two quilts I designed and will keep the block in my library, more as a curiosity than a because does what I wanted to do.
The reason it doesn’t appeal to me is that where the blocks meet at the corners looks a bit awkward.
